What is Elevare Learning?
Elevare Learning is a California-based education company that builds motivational science assessments and supporting tools for K–12 schools. The flagship product, CoreDrive, measures the 17 fundamental drives behind student behavior. Elevare was founded by Oscar Luna, a California educator, and validated by practicing California educators.
Who is CoreDrive built for?
CoreDrive was built for secondary school populations where engagement is the central challenge, including continuation, alternative, and comprehensive schools. It works particularly well in settings serving at-risk and Tier 2 & 3 students, including students whose disengagement is driven by mental health rather than behavior.
How is this different from SEL programs or climate surveys?
SEL programs and climate surveys measure how students feel. CoreDrive measures what drives them. Climate surveys tell you something is wrong; CoreDrive tells you why, and matches each student profile to specific intervention strategies. The two work together: CoreDrive answers the questions climate data raises.
Does this work outside of continuation schools?
Yes. CoreDrive works with any high school or middle school population where engagement is a challenge. The methodology is the same; the intervention strategies adapt to the setting. Pilot sites have started in continuation contexts because that’s where the need is most acute.
How do California districts pay for this?
Most California districts fund CoreDrive through LCAP, Title I-A, Title II-A, Title IV-A, ELOP, ASES, and California Community Schools. Assessment data maps directly to LCFF State Priorities 5 (Student Engagement) and 6 (School Climate), so it produces data that satisfies reporting and informs decisions. CoreDrive is designed with ESSA evidence standards in mind.
What does getting started look like?
Most engagements begin with a 30-minute strategy call to understand your population and goals. From there, we typically pilot CoreDrive at a single site, with assessment administration, staff training, and intervention strategy debrief included. No software to install, no additional programs to manage.
